Builder from Kurzeme Listened to His Inner Voice and Hit the Jackpot 0 27

Last week was special for a 23-year-old resident of South Kurzeme who works in construction. The young man won a large prize in the "Lottery of the Century" (Simtgades loterija) — 100,000 euros.

"It happened on a weekday around half past seven in the morning. I was getting ready for work, and suddenly I had a feeling: I need to buy a lottery ticket," recalls the lucky winner.

According to him, he plays the lottery about once every three months. "I usually spend 20–30 euros on it. I used to buy Simtgades loterija as well, but the biggest win was only 20 euros," admits the young man.

A few days earlier, luck had already smiled at him slightly in Eurojackpot — the win was 10.40 euros. At that time, he thought: should he take the money or buy another ticket? "I had a feeling that it was worth trying again. At first, I looked at the tickets for three euros, but I decided to buy two Simtgades loterija. I won 10 euros — and bought two more. There I won 5 euros, and it was with that money that I bought the ticket that brought 100,000," he explains.

The moment of winning will forever remain in his memory. "I started scratching, and suddenly — so many zeros! I automatically jumped to my feet, my hands were shaking, and my heart was racing.

I closed the ticket — apparently, out of shock and disbelief. Then I opened it again to make sure. This feeling is beyond words, but I wish everyone could experience it," smiles the young man.

His joy was shared with his loved ones. "My girlfriend was thrilled, she couldn't believe that something like this could happen to us. A relative who had just finished her night shift called back to make sure that I really told her about the win and that it wasn't just a dream," he adds.

On the same day, the winner contacted Latvijas Loto and claimed his prize, and by Friday, he had completed all the necessary paperwork. Now he is cautiously making plans for the future. "Of course, I will treat myself a little, invest in myself. I’m thinking about buying real estate that can be rented out, or maybe I will start my own small business," he shares.
