Ukrainian Pianist Living in Riga to Hold Concert in Support of Journalists in His Country

Famous Ukrainian pianist Arthur Nikulin, currently living in Latvia after the onset of the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, has initiated a fundraiser for the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine.

Thanks to the largest charity fund in Latvia, ziedot.lv, and the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Latvia, a concert by the pianist will take place on April 18 at 17:00 at the Anglican Church of Riga, located at Anglikanu iela, 2. The proceeds from the concert will be directed to support Ukrainian journalists.

As Arthur himself states, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, journalists have been working in extremely dangerous conditions to convey the truth about what is happening to the world. They not only risk their lives on the front lines but also face enormous technical and economic difficulties.

That is why it is very important for Arthur to support the regional press, which, in our time of communication breakdown in Ukraine, can document facts, preserving them for future generations.

The idea for the musician was proposed by the outstanding Latvian documentary filmmaker Vitaly Mansky, who personally invited the pianist to the Riga premiere of the film by the famous Lviv native "Time of Flight," which took place at the ArtDocFest festival.

The concert of the renowned pianist will take place on April 18 at 17:00 at the Anglican Church of Riga, and admission is free!

Donations for Ukrainian journalists can be made online here - https://www.ziedot.lv/atbalsts-ukrainas-zurnalistiem-5930, or during the concert.
