In the USA, an experienced angler caught a perch weighing 7.14 kilograms, breaking the record for the state of Tennessee. This was reported by Outdoor Life.

The record fish was caught by Darrell Nanley. On February 28, he went fishing at Nickajack Lake with his friend Hensley Powell. The day before, Powell had already caught several large perch there. An hour after starting to fish, Nanley hooked something big. At first, the man thought he had snagged some shoreline weeds, but then realized it was a large perch.

Nanley immediately understood that he could break the state record. After weighing it on certified scales, the catch came in at 7.14 kilograms. The previous Tennessee record was set in 2015 and stood at 6.9 kilograms. "Darrell has lived near me all his life and now fishes less than he would like. God sent him this fish," Powell stated.

Nanley's record has not yet been officially recognized, but his friends have no doubt that it will happen soon.
