The singer is the author of many controversial statements.
Women should best find out "secretly" what their man really wants for February 23, rather than buying a gift at their own discretion. This was stated by the famous Russian singer Yuri Loza (72).
"The best gift is the one that is expected. I have always been annoyed during all holidays by the desire to buy something at my own discretion. A guy is waiting for a fishing rod, but he gets socks. This is, of course, a good gift, but if he was waiting for a fishing rod, then socks will not make him happy, you understand? Therefore, it should be decided by the person who wants to receive something. Ask him. I think this is good advice for women — try to find out somehow before the holiday what he really wants to receive," said the artist.
The performer noted that this does not apply to situations where the gift is "unrealistic" and cannot be purchased. "But if it is something that he wants, then why not make him happy?" added Loza.
Yuri Loza is known as a supporter of several well-known conspiracy theories. In an interview with the program "Chas Speak" on the RTVI YouTube channel, Loza stated that he believes the Earth is flat; that the whole world is "covered up to the second floor," and that space flights are a fabrication. As arguments, he cited the book "200 Proofs That the Earth Is Not a Rotating Sphere," geodesy, navigation not based on a globe, airplane flights, and climate at the poles. Thus, the singer is convinced that Antarctica is not a continent, but a "high ice wall" that surrounds the flat Earth, along which "one can walk endlessly." Furthermore, "it is unknown whether anyone has reached the South Pole."
In 2016, Yuri Loza commented on the first astronaut Yuri Gagarin: "You understand what the matter is. Gagarin was the first. Gagarin did nothing; he was lying down. He is the first and most important astronaut."
This phrase caused a negative reaction from the public, for example, Alexei Leonov, the first astronaut to walk in space, called Loza an immature and unserious person. Georgy Grechko added that Loza would not be able to withstand the fame that Gagarin had, who went through "fire, water, and copper pipes," and does not understand the significant difference between lying on a couch and being in an experimental spacecraft, where one needs to conduct observations and ensure the operation of systems. In response to the criticism, the musician stated that "Gagarin really just lay there; he couldn't even move a finger in the first capsule." He refused to justify or refute himself, adding that "those who need to will understand what was meant."
Yuri Loza has also actively opposed COVID-19 vaccinations, denying the existence of the coronavirus pandemic.
In one interview, he stated that about 200 years ago (in the 18th century), a worldwide flood occurred, which, among other things, destroyed the forests of Siberia and flooded all the cities of the world. He also disagrees with some aspects of the theory of evolution: "In essence, the idea that an octopus and a human came from the same bacterium is nonsense. Evolution — yes, it exists; mimicry, living organisms adapt to their environment, no one denies this, but the transition from one species to another is not confirmed. A monkey has never turned into a human because there are no intermediate forms."
At the same time, the singer "cannot say how everything is actually arranged" because "there is no data; we are not allowed to know anything," trips to the edge of the Earth are prohibited, as are space explorations — "the space under the dome." The existence of the "dome" is justified by the fact that all visible objects are "fixed on it," the Earth is not moving anywhere, and the picture of the starry sky has not changed for hundreds of years. This means that aliens do not exist. The belief in their existence is a "substitution of faith in God." Loza has a negative attitude towards space flights, as "they are associated with overloads and certain skills." He does not believe the words of well-known astronauts like Oleg Artemyev, stating that "a person under oath, he is in uniform. He is obliged to say what his superiors ordered him to say."
Hero of Russia, pilot-cosmonaut Sergey Zalyotin publicly refuted Loza's views on a flat Earth: "Regarding the Earth, I can confidently say that it is round — a sphere. You can't even see the flattening of the poles. Any astronaut flying around the Earth will confirm this. The idea that it is flat and rests on whales and elephants is not serious. This is a game. From Yuri's side, this is a game." Hero of Russia, test cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov perceived Yuri Loza's words about space as a joke, suggesting that the artist needs popularity.
