Recently, family, colleagues, and friends bid farewell to actress Olga Chipovskaya. At the mourning ceremony held at the Vakhtangov Theater, the main muse of Vasily Lanovoy was also spotted.
Irina Kupchenko appeared at the farewell to her longtime friend in full regalia. However, despite her high heels and perfect hairstyle, she knelt by Olga Chipovskaya's coffin. At the same time, the widow of Vasily Lanovoy looked truly stunning – at least ten years younger than her age. “Goddess!” - pleasantly surprised fans of the artist expressed on social media. As is known, Kupchenko was by her beloved's side until the end - she cared for the bedridden actor, who passed away on January 28, 2021, due to complications from a coronavirus infection.
Irina Kupchenko and Vasily Lanovoy lived together for almost half a century – this union became an example of love based on mutual respect, trust, and understanding. Their story began in the early 1970s when the idol of Soviet women already had significant life experience behind him.
Before meeting Kupchenko, Lanovoy had two marriages. The actor's first official chosen one was Tatyana Samoilova – they met while still in college and soon got married, but this union fell apart after the filming of the cult film “The Cranes Are Flying.” Samoilova became pregnant and had an abortion, which the artist could never come to terms with. Lanovoy's second wife was actress and director Tamara Zyablova, whom the actor loved dearly. However, in 1971, Zyablova tragically died in a car accident. After that, fate brought Vasily Lanovoy and Irina Kupchenko together at the Vakhtangov Theater.
Later, Lanovoy and Kupchenko had two sons: Alexander – named after Pushkin, and Sergey – named after Yesenin. Although the parents were actors themselves, they decided to shield their children from the stage – they rarely took them to the theater, and both sons chose different professions: the elder became a historian, and the younger an economist. In 2013, the star family experienced a terrible loss: Sergey Lanovoy passed away from a heart attack at the age of 37.
