Gynecologist: smoking and alcohol deplete the ovaries.
Many everyday habits that seem harmless are detrimental to women's health, warned obstetrician-gynecologist and ultrasound diagnostics physician Nina Monakhova.
First of all, Monakhova noted that smoking is harmful to women's health. According to her, nicotine and tar disrupt the blood supply to all organs, including the uterus and ovaries, which provokes a decrease in estrogen levels and, consequently, worsens fertility, disrupts the cycle, and leads to premature aging.
The doctor added that the habit of drinking alcohol is also dangerous for women's health. Alcohol provokes an increase in male hormone levels, which can raise the risks of infertility and miscarriage, as well as negatively affect the reserve of egg cells, skin condition, and hair.
Monakhova noted that unhealthy eating habits also harm health. She emphasized that both strict diets and an excess of simple carbohydrates, sugar, and trans fats are dangerous. In addition, she included stress and a lack of movement among the habits that negatively affect women's health.
"Your women's health is a capital that cannot be quickly restored after many years of improper care. Each of the listed habits is like a crack in the foundation. They may remain unnoticed for a long time, but sooner or later they will lead to serious consequences," the doctor added.
