Many are tormented by the question of the reasons behind Prokhor Shalyapin's sudden rise. This phenomenon also surprises Otar Kushanashvili.
For a long time, Shalyapin was known to the public only as a former participant of "Star Factory," who seriously claimed to be related to the legendary performer Fyodor Shalyapin. Then Prokhor began to frequently appear on the sets of scandalous talk shows due to his romances with older women.
And suddenly, Shalyapin started gaining popularity among the youth. The artist released a book and became a frequent guest on various internet shows. Observing the new wave of Prokhor's popularity, Otar Kushanashvili reflected in his new episode of the YouTube show "How is it?!" on who is promoting the radiant artist.
"There is no such rise! There is no such rise that is not backed by someone's call. You understand what topic I am talking about. There is no rise from simple mass entertainers, as he was. Moreover, he was an extraordinary mass entertainer due to his appearance. We must admit that.
But here is the moment related — Prokhor, forgive me, but I have told you this in private meetings — it is precisely the external data, which favorably distinguishes him, let’s be frank, from his ugly colleagues, that served as a reason to help. Who is helping Prokhor Shalyapin?" Otar Shalvovich questions.
Kushanashvili has no doubt that some patron from above, having such opportunities, has taken care of Shalyapin's career. However, the journalist did not make any assumptions about the mysterious identity of Prokhor's benefactor. "A person could not rise like that without a call from there. He was a nobody for two decades. He was ready for anything just to be seen. And suddenly he is at the top… I don’t believe it, this doesn’t happen in Russia!" concluded Kushanashvili.
Meanwhile, Shalyapin himself, in a resonant interview for Ksenia Sobchak's project "Caution: Sobchak," spoke about his sudden popularity. According to the singer, he is indeed incredibly lucky. "I was in the 'lower internet,' from there one doesn’t usually get out. I came to you from hell." At the same time, for Prokhor, there is a logical explanation for this story, which he voiced in the interview with Sobchak:
"I participated (in the show 'New Stars in Africa'), returned to Moscow, and thought it was another failure. Well, I was already used to being embarrassed, okay. I wasn’t in a hurry, didn’t want anything, I had no strength for these competitions, I was lying there all the time. After the show aired, people started cutting out my lines from the broadcast and making videos. It took off on its own, although I thought people wouldn’t like it."
