More than a year has passed since the death of basketball player Janis Timma, but his family does not give up and continues the fight for the inheritance so that the athlete's son, Kristians, has a memory of his father. Before the onset of 2026, family lawyer Margarita Gavrilova announced the latest news, reports tv3.
The lawyer published fresh information on the Telegram platform, noting that she promised to share the latest news before the New Year.
Margarita reports that she has filed a lawsuit against Anna Sedokova so that the family can learn the exact composition of the inheritance, as well as for the recognition of the first heir — son Janis. After this, the singer will be required to pay the amount due to the boy.
"So far, the date of the court hearing is unknown, and that’s normal, as courts are rushing to close cases already in progress before the New Year. I hope that the first hearing will take place in January," says Margarita.
As part of the inheritance case, the notary has sent requests to the Federal Registration Service and the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate.
It has been revealed that two real estate properties were purchased and sold during the marriage: apartments in the residential complexes 'Scarlet Sails' and 'Heart of the Capital'.
The lawyer clarifies that the apartments were transferred to third parties during construction, but this does not prevent tracking the path of the buying and selling transactions. A total of five real estate properties have been discovered.

The lawyer is also outraged by the legal battle of Anna's elder daughter — Alina — in Ukraine for all of her father's assets from the widow. The lawyer considers the girl a selfish copy of her mother, despite the fact that she herself is fighting for Janis's child to receive his share of the inheritance from his father's widow.
