The famous artist bought an apartment for his mother near his own.
Prokhor Shalyapin admitted that he does not often buy expensive things for himself. Most of them are gifts. In a recent episode of the show "Question at Hand," the artist assured that in his everyday life he dresses "like a gray mouse" and takes the subway. However, a couple of luxury items have found their way into his wardrobe — mink coats from Loro Piana and Versace costing between 1 to 2 million rubles (10-20 thousand euros). In other respects, Shalyapin is quite modest and reserved.
"I take the subway; I have an annual unlimited pass. I currently have a luxurious Chinese car, but… It's hard to say about my wardrobe; I don't cling to things. I have a lot of clothes, but I'm very down-to-earth. In life, I wear inconspicuous, gray clothing; I only dress brightly for work, as I have a folk persona," he stated.
Earlier, Prokhor Shalyapin commented on accusations of misogyny that he faced after an archived video went viral, in which he expressed the need to prevent women from holding leadership positions.
The singer also shared that he bought an apartment for his mother in a building opposite his own. Previously, she lived in Mytishchi, but has now moved to the Danilovsky district of Moscow to be closer to her son.
"Where I live, I have the subway nearby; everything is convenient. I lived there for most of my life," Shalyapin said.
As the artist noted, his mother became the owner of a spacious three-room apartment with an area of 80 square meters. Prokhor himself owns two adjacent apartments, one of which is currently undergoing major renovations.
Earlier, Prokhor Shalyapin urged wealthy friends of Larisa Dolina to buy her an apartment. The artist emphasized that he has never personally felt warm feelings for Dolina, but respects her for her difficult creative journey. He also appealed to the public not to "finish off" the singer in this challenging situation.
