Надежда Георгиевна всегда была близка к власти.

The fund's revenues sharply declined while expenses remained.

Nadezhda Babkina has decided to liquidate her charitable "Fund for Supporting Cultural Figures," which had been helping elderly cultural figures for nearly three decades.

The organization, founded in 1996, officially ceased to exist following a decision by the Tver Court of Moscow. The reason for the closure was financial: over the past three years, the fund operated at a loss, with a total deficit of 68,000 rubles. This was reported by the Telegram channel SHOT.

Interestingly, creditors of the organization have two months to present financial claims against Babkina as the founder.

The "Fund for Supporting Cultural Figures" was not just a legal entity - it became a symbol of care for the older generation of artists, many of whom were left without means of support. The fund provided financial assistance, hired social workers, paid for medications and utilities, and supported young talents.

Its peak activity was in 2021, when income amounted to 70 million rubles, and net profit was 48 million. However, in the following years, revenues sharply declined while expenses remained. This led to a persistent deficit, and Babkina, who had been the president of the fund since 2007, made the difficult but necessary decision to cease its operations.

Babkina Today: Injuries, Love, and Work

Despite the cessation of her charitable mission, Nadezhda Georgievna remains active in creative and public life. In May 2025, she publicly supported Mikhail Efremov, who had been released from prison, stating that "no one is immune to mistakes" and she is ready to extend a hand to him. Although later Efremov joined Nikita Mikhalkov's theater instead of "Russian Song," Babkina's gesture was noticed and highly appreciated.

In July of the same year, the 75-year-old singer suffered serious injuries at her anniversary concert: she fell from a broken chair while changing clothes, sustaining deep cuts on her arm and injuring her leg. Nevertheless, she went on stage with a bloodied hand to avoid disrupting the duet with Alexander Buynov.

As for her personal life, the artist firmly denied new rumors about a breakup with singer Yevgeny Gor. "Zhenya hasn’t gone anywhere. He’s a substantial guy with whom I enjoy spending time," she stated, adding that she particularly values his ability to laugh at her everyday blunders.

At the same time, Babkina emphasized that romance is not a priority for her right now. "I have constant sleep deprivation and a lot of tasks. I don’t intend to wash laundry or cook food. Let them do it themselves," she said with her usual straightforwardness.

In 2004, Babkina was included in the list of persons declared persona non grata in Azerbaijan for visiting the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, contrary to Azerbaijani laws, where she performed a concert.

In May 2017, the SBU banned Babkina from entering Ukraine due to her performances in Crimea and support for the Russian annexation of Crimea.

Babkina supported Russia's invasion of Ukraine, repeating the Kremlin propaganda thesis about the mistreatment of Russian people in Ukraine. Later, she was included in the FBK list of corrupt officials and war instigators for publicly supporting the actions of the Russian army in Ukraine.

On October 19, 2022, she was added to Ukraine's sanctions lists against individuals "who publicly call for aggressive war, justify and recognize the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, and the temporary occupation of Ukrainian territory."

On February 3, 2023, she was included in Canada's sanctions list for her involvement in spreading Russian disinformation and propaganda.

On March 17, 2023, the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs imposed sanctions against Babkina, banning her from entering the country, among other Russian cultural figures who supported the war in Ukraine.
