In China, a girl has fed and sheltered 120 stray cats in her apartment.
In the Chinese city of Baoshan, Yunnan Province, a girl named Xuanxuan has taken in 120 stray cats. This was reported by the South China Morning Post.
The cats appeared in Xuanxuan's life in 2022. In winter, she picked up the coldest ones from the street and fed them. Gradually, her apartment turned into a kind of shelter for homeless animals. To feed all her pets, a significant amount of money was required. Food for even one cat costs about three yuan a day (around 80 euro cents), and to have enough food for all, at least 300 yuan (about 40 euros) a day is needed.
One day, Xuanxuan was at a wedding and noticed that a considerable amount of food was being thrown away. She thought that the leftovers from the wedding dishes could easily feed her pets. The problem was that Xuanxuan had always been shy, and talking to strangers was very difficult for her. However, for the sake of the cats, she gathered her courage, started attending other people's weddings, and talked about her problem.
Most newlyweds were understanding of her requests, willingly giving away uneaten dishes and even inviting her to the table. Now, Xuanxuan attends weddings three times a month and on lucky days brings home up to 30 kilograms of food for the cats. This helps her save up to two thousand yuan a month (over 230 euros) and cope with the social phobia that had been troubling her.
