Couple from the USA to Distribute $6 Billion to Children: Where to Apply

American businessman Michael Dell and his wife Susan intend to donate $6.25 billion to the Invest America initiative, also known as the "Trump accounts," aimed at providing children in the U.S. with their own investment accounts.

The previously announced initiative by President Donald Trump, Invest America, provides that the government will automatically open an account for $1,000 in the name of every child born in the United States from 2025 to 2028. It will take effect on July 4, 2026.

The funds will be invested in index funds, and the owners will gain access to them upon reaching the age of 18. The money can be spent on higher education, a down payment on a mortgage, or starting a business.

According to calculations on the website officialdata.org, if a person had invested $1,000 in the S&P 500 index 18 years ago, they would now have nearly $6,500. The average annual return of the index (taking into account reinvested dividends) during this period was 11.22%.

Dell's donation will allow the program to expand and include children under the age of 10. Priority will be given to families with an annual income of less than $150,000.

Dell is the founder and CEO of Dell Technologies. He ranks 11th on the list of the world's richest people, with a net worth estimated at $148 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. The businessman is an active supporter and ideological inspirer of the "Trump accounts."
