The actor continues to work on a tight schedule. He shared his emotions on set on the final shooting day of the series "How Derevyanko Played Chekhov."
"How Derevyanko Played Chekhov" is a new comedy series about how a popular Russian actor wants to make a film about the great classic Anton Pavlovich Chekhov. In this new project by CTC, Pavel Derevyanko once again plays himself. In the first part — "How Derevyanko Played Lomonosov" — the actor goes to the countryside, to the homeland of the scientist, to regain inspiration and overcome a creative crisis. In the new part, Derevyanko will travel to his native Taganrog to find a way to approach Chekhov's heir, who is obstructing the filming of a movie about her great ancestor.
Actors often find it difficult to cope with a busy shooting schedule. Sometimes they need to juggle several projects simultaneously, memorize lines, and cover long distances to filming locations; not all artists are ready to handle such loads. Each has their own way of avoiding burnout at work.
"I don’t remember having a creative crisis as such; there were some life situations, a couple of tough moments, but work, on the contrary, always helps me. I’ve had my internal, quite depressive situations. And in both cases, work saved me, so I love it very much," says Pavel Derevyanko. Speaking about his routine, the actor emphasizes that he prefers to live on a tight schedule. In his opinion, strict discipline and a stable routine indicate professionalism. He particularly highlights the unconventional, complex scenes in the entire filming process.
"There are complex, psycho-emotional scenes, and I love those. If we’re talking about comedy, I really enjoy eccentricity. Such highly emotional expressions. Within the framework of organicity, of course. What I don’t like are simple, ordinary scenes where you can talk a lot. And waiting in the dressing room, of course, I don’t like," adds the artist.
