“Too Popular in Russia!” Lithuania Explained the Ban on Entry for Singer Morgenshtern

Morgenshtern was banned from entering Lithuania due to his popularity in Russia, the lawyer reported.

Lawyer Sergey Zhorin linked the ban on entry to Lithuania for Alisher Morgenshtern - who has been included by the Russian Ministry of Justice in the register of foreign agents - to the rapper's popularity among Russian-speaking listeners.

Zhorin doubted that the artist could pose a threat to the country's security, as claimed by the Lithuanian authorities. According to the lawyer, it is more likely that the republic wants to limit everything related to Russia.

“Morgenshtern is still popular among the Russian-speaking audience. Perhaps this is one of the reasons for such a decision,” Zhorin believes.

It was previously reported that the Lithuanian authorities included Morgenshtern in the list of undesirable persons. The musician has been banned from entering the country for ten years.
