Catherine Zeta-Jones has long been considered a model beauty, but time is unforgiving even to her. Meanwhile, there is an opinion that the pursuit of youth has led the 'Wednesday' star to catastrophic changes in her appearance.

Until recently, Catherine Zeta-Jones hardly faced criticism regarding her looks. An elegant beauty who enhances every project — this is how the star was most often described. But recently, everything has changed.

"She looks more like the Joker from 'Batman' than a passionate movie star," says an insider from the American film industry.

Rumor has it that Catherine was forced to go under the knife of a plastic surgeon. "She was the embodiment of her beauty. Now, for better or worse, she needs to maintain it to continue getting roles," notes the source. The actress has allegedly made many visits to plastic surgery specialists. The procedures have led to unexpected results.

Dr. Robert Setari believes that the Zeta-Jones who resembles the Joker has undergone either a non-surgical facelift or a mini facelift. This is hinted at by the tautness of the middle and lower parts of her face. As further evidence of his theory, Dr. Setari points to the smoothness of the skin and the volume of the lips of 56-year-old Catherine. His colleague Sean McNally is also convinced that plastic surgeons have worked on Zeta-Jones's appearance:

"The actress from 'Ocean's Twelve' may have had upper blepharoplasty to remove excess skin from her eyelids. <…> She has undergone lipofilling or fillers to enhance her cheeks."

Another doctor, Charles Runels, suggested that Catherine uses fillers and may have even had a neck lift. It is unlikely that Zeta-Jones herself will confirm any of these theories. The actress has denied for years that she resorts to the services of plastic surgeons.
