Urologist Rodrigo Braz explained which pathologies and diseases may be associated with erectile dysfunction. The doctor listed these diseases to men in a conversation with the publication Metropoles.
According to Braz, erectile dysfunction can occur with diabetes and cardiovascular diseases such as atherosclerosis, hypertension, and ischemic heart disease. In addition, sexual problems are a result of a sedentary lifestyle, smoking, and high cholesterol levels in the blood, he added.
"Many men just want a remedy for erection, but they forget that weight loss, physical exercise, and good sleep are fundamental to sexual function," the specialist noted. He added that erectile dysfunction can also arise after certain types of surgeries for prostate cancer treatment.
