In France, a 77-year-old man fell into a 40-meter ravine and survived on wine for three days.

In France, an elderly man from the Lozère department fell into a ravine while returning home from the store and drank wine for three days while waiting for rescue. This was reported by Cycling Weekly.

The 77-year-old resident of Saint-Julien-de-Puy went shopping by bicycle. The store was located in a neighboring town, 14 kilometers from his home. On the way back, he accidentally missed the necessary turn and rolled into a 40-meter ravine.

The elderly cyclist was unable to get out by himself. The man began to shout, trying to attract the attention of passersby and motorists on the road, but no one heard him. As a result, the Frenchman spent three days at the bottom of the ravine. During this time, he survived on food he had bought at the store and drank wine. Three days later, his cries were heard by passersby who called for rescuers.

When the man was lifted from the bottom of the ravine, it turned out that he had only suffered a few minor injuries and slight hypothermia. "It's just a miracle. In cold and damp weather, practically without food and water. He is incredibly resilient," said the doctor who examined the pensioner after the rescue.

It was previously reported that in the UK, deer hunters rescued an elderly man who got lost in the mountains during bad weather. The 76-year-old Scotsman spent eight days alone.
