Global pop diva from Australia Kylie Minogue briefly arrived in Riga in the middle of last week to shoot a music video for her new song, reports Evija Kalnberza in the publication "Privātā Dzīve," writes tautaruna.lv.
Last Wednesday, passersby near the Latvian Society on Architectu and Merkela streets noticed large vans, lighting equipment, and even cranes. This equipment belongs to the Danish film studio Vacation Unit, which was filming a feature movie in the building of the Latvian Society.
At the same time, the same equipment was used by singer Kylie Minogue, who was shooting her music video in Old Riga. This information was confirmed by the chairman of the Latvian Society, Guntis Gailitis.
Previously, Minogue had performed concerts in Latvia twice — perhaps that’s when she scouted suitable locations in Riga for the visual presentation of her new song. Last week, several people noted on social media that Kylie was very warm towards the filming crew. For the needs of the video, a casting call for child dancers was even held in Riga, and musician from the group Dzelzs vilks, Kaspars Tobis, provided two synthesizers for the shoot.
