The National Health Service in the UK has warned that a cough that lasts for three weeks or more may be a symptom of cancer.
A cough that persists during this period may be caused by a deadly disease,” the Mirror reported, emphasizing that more than 33,000 Britons die from this disease each year.
The newspaper notes that more often than not, a cough is merely a harmless symptom associated with many illnesses, such as COVID-19 or acute respiratory infections, but it can also be a sign of a fatal disease.
