The Best Bedtime Has Been Named

The nurse advised elderly people to go to bed before 11 PM.

Nurse Regina Giblin, who works with people with heart conditions, has named the best time to go to sleep. Her recommendation was published by the American outlet Huffpost.

Giblin advised everyone who wants to maintain cardiovascular health to go to bed between 10 PM and 11 PM. To support her statement, she cited a 2021 study whose results showed that there is a so-called "golden hour" for going to sleep.

Experts analyzed data collected over nearly six years from 88,000 people aged 43 to 74 and found that those who fell asleep between 10 PM and 11 PM had the lowest risk of developing circulatory and heart problems. For those who went to bed between 11 PM and midnight, the likelihood of such diseases increased by 12 percent, while for those who fell asleep after midnight, this figure rose to 25 percent.

Giblin also noted that it is important to monitor other sleep parameters. "Getting enough sleep is important for overall well-being as well as for heart and circulatory system health. Most adults should aim to sleep between seven and nine hours a day," she reminded.
