34-year-old Ivan Yankovsky admitted how difficult his path to the profession began.
The future artist was too much of a nuisance to his parents in childhood, and he was sent to film school as a punishment. "I got in there because I messed up once again, and my mother simply told me: either you go to the army or to Suvorov Military School, or you will study where your brain will match your desires."
In the DreamCast podcast, the star of "The Word of a Guy" recalled one of the notable moments of his biography. "Everyday life, school, they didn't interest me much, and that led to various problems, truancy. I had different funny stories when I tried to outsmart my family," admits the heir of a star dynasty.
Yankovsky recounted how one day he was caught by his father while smoking with his peers. Philip Olegovich did not let such a liberty slide. "He gently took me by the neck and led me to the entrance. He told everything to my mother. And then sanctions followed. I was locked at home from the outside world. I couldn't go out, do anything. This lasted from three months to half a year," Ivan recounts. At that time, it seemed to him that he had been locked up for much longer. Time in childhood always seems to stretch slower, he believes.
However, the disciplinary measures did have an effect. Oksana Fandera and Philip Yankovsky channeled their son's boundless energy in the right direction. Starting from the eighth grade, Ivan began studying at the Moscow Film School, and after successfully graduating, he was admitted to GITIS.
