The value of the lot can reach up to 10 million rubles (100,000 euros)
The death mask of the legendary bard and artist Vladimir Vysotsky will be sold at auction on October 21. This news is reported by the website of the auction house Hermitage Fine Art.
According to experts, the estimated value of the lot ranges from 9.5 million to 11.2 million rubles. The mask was cast in 1980. It bears the date of its creation as well as the initials of Vysotsky's widow, Marina Vlady. It was under the guidance of the French actress that the mask was cast.
The plaster cast was made by sculptor Yuri Vasilyev. In total, three death masks of Vysotsky were cast from this mold.
Ten years ago, Marina Vlady organized an auction where she sold some of her late husband's belongings. The actress exhibited the last poem of Vladimir Semyonovich and one of his death masks. Two years ago, the star of French cinema donated negatives depicting the bard to an auction in Yekaterinburg.
