The initial reason was Maria's early marriage.
After the screening of "Chronicles of the Russian Revolution" by director Andrei Konchalovsky, his granddaughter Maria casually announced that she is getting a divorce from her husband. The star heiress married businessman Nikita Kuzmin at the age of 19. They separated after five years of marriage.

When asked why she was at the premiere without her husband, Maria modestly noted: "You know, my husband and I are getting a divorce. Well, it just happened. We came to this decision mutually, there were no scandals." Mikhalkova-Konchalovskaya has repeatedly stated that she married too early (and advises others not to!), and in her conversation with the press, she once again emphasized: "Early marriage."
The daughter of Yegor Konchalovsky and Lyubov Tolkalina does not hide that she and Nikita came to this decision a long time ago, talked a lot about this difficult topic, sought solutions, but ultimately decided that it would be better for them not to be together.
"We were a beautiful couple, we lived together very well for five years, and we even look similar, but it turned out that our values began to diverge, we started to change and realized — we are not on the same path anymore," Maria shares in a conversation with Woman.ru. As she noted, Nikita was often on business trips and even thought about moving to another country, but she did not like that, it did not suit her, it was inconvenient. Is she disappointed in marriage? Of course not, because "marriage is the only reason why a man and a woman come together." And in general, her experience is not sad; it just happened that she and her husband saw their future differently.
