"She broke many destinies," says producer Prigozhin.
Famous singer Valeria (57) and her producer and husband Joseph Prigozhin (56) shared in an interview with the media that they are happy with their life and creative partnership.
Valeria: - 23 years together. We are like Siamese twins, really.
I. P.: - We are a team. I always thank the Almighty, every morning and every evening, before going to sleep and when I open my eyes, I wake up, turn to the right and see: this is my beauty next to me. I breathe the same air with her. And I like it. We first met at "Morning Star." Valeria won against my protégé - singer Sona. At that time, I didn't even think that years later I would become the husband of this wonderful woman.
M. B.: There is a story circulating on the internet about how recently in Istanbul a taxi driver stole your money...
I. P.: - Let me explain in detail. The taxi driver asked us to pay in advance, which immediately raised my suspicions. I gave him 10 euros in cash, and he said they were old. I couldn't understand: maybe something changed while we were flying? I gave him another 20 euros. He said - old, let's use a card. You know, today there are difficulties with cards. I had a Belarusian card, I tapped it on the terminal. But the SMS came to a different number, not the one linked to the card. I tapped it again, a different one, and the taxi driver said: the card doesn't work. We had to get out of the car. We realized that some kind of manipulation was happening and took a photo of his license plate. Of course, he stole the money (the driver withdrew $12,000 from the card, about a million rubles. - Ed.).
Thanks to Valeria's fame and the hotel security, the police quickly found this person. He later brought me a bundle of Turkish lira and returned the entire amount in cash.
V.: - But they say this is an exceptional case. Usually, it doesn't happen like this.
M. B.: - Why do you think people have been falling for scams so often lately?
I. P.: - Every day I get calls from some people, apparently, they steal contacts from somewhere on "State Services." They say: you have a homeowners' association meeting today. What time will you be there, Joseph Igorevich? I understand that these are random people. First of all, I immediately hang up. Secondly, I block their number. But we are already experienced. But what happens to elderly people, to those who have not encountered this? I believe that scammers should be equated with murderers. Otherwise, they will not stop and will continue this robbery.
M. B.: - Joseph, did you watch the sensational interview with Alla Pugacheva? What did you like, what do you disagree with?
I. P.: - I disagree with her statement that her homeland and the people betrayed her. That is definitely not true. The fact that she has always been willful and the mistress of her position is a fact. She was loved, probably also for the fact that she has always been like that. But the fact that she broke many destinies is also a fact.
M. B.: - Did she feel like the mistress of the Russian show business?
I. P.: - Of course. When she was the producer of the fifth or sixth "Factory," she asked the music editors not to let Valeria go on air because Kristina (Orbakajte, Pugacheva's daughter. - Ed.) was supposed to perform that day.
V.: - In the interview, she criticized someone: saying, where is the conscience? She said: my conscience would not allow me to do this. When we were the first to be banned in Latvia - me, Oleg Gazmanov, and Joseph Davydovich Kobzon, the "New Wave" festival was happening, and we couldn't attend it (in 2014, after the reunification of Crimea and Russia, the Latvian authorities banned artists from entering the country, stating that they "contributed to undermining the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine." - Ed.). Pugacheva participated in "New Wave." She was the most powerful, people listened to her. But she didn't say a word in defense. She sang the song "They Beat Us, We Fly." They were beating us, but it turns out she was flying.
I. P.: - I believe that most of what she said in the interview is absolute hypocrisy. She needed to justify herself to her children for leaving. We by no means diminish her talent; she is a great artist. I'll tell you more. When she left, slamming the door, everyone understood. Because she went after her husband. But when she started making subsequent statements... Why did she leave? I will answer you. Earlier, excuse me, she opened doors with her foot in all offices. But today the doors are closed for her. She lost her status and influence. She came here to negotiate to allow her husband to return and resume his profession. "What did he say? - she said in the offices. - Nothing at all, really."
