On May 10, in honor of Mother's Day and the opening of Family Month, the family folk festival Taka will take place in the VEF quarter from 12:00 to 20:00.

Festival guests will be able to attend concerts by folk groups and participate in dance and singing workshops conducted by Zane Šmite and Ansis Betinš. Additionally, visitors can look forward to a jam session with DJ KAN and folk musicians. The program includes family creative workshops, games, contests, a crafts and homemade goods fair.

Visitors can enjoy a children's folk concert "Dedication to Mom," an adult concert "Spring is Sounding," and a youth program "Our Voice, Our Time." Throughout the day, there will also be an opportunity to learn about the medieval weapons and armor exhibit "Mask Cabinet," and discussions on values will take place at the Domnīca venue.

Twelve folk groups from different regions of Latvia will participate in the festival. Among them are the family folk studio Garataka, the groups Knipati, Kokle, Kamolītis, Krāce, Ceidari, Ķocis, Oglīte, as well as the folk-dance group Zeidi.

Starting at 18:00, the festival will feature dancing with the post-folk group Tā kā pērn.
