On May 10, the Riga Art Nouveau Museum invites you to a diverse program dedicated to Mother's Day. In the first half of the day, families with children can attend the themed event "Mother's Day at the Museum," while the festive atmosphere in the afternoon will be enhanced by the chamber music concert "Heart of a Mother." Visitors will also have the opportunity to take photos with spring flowers and hats in the Art Nouveau-style salon.
Mother's Day has been celebrated for over a hundred years, and during this time the tradition has taken on various forms in different countries around the world, but the unifying factor is gratitude and sincerity dedicated to mothers. To enjoy this family holiday in an atmosphere and interior style of Art Nouveau, the residents of Riga and visitors to the city are invited to visit the Riga Art Nouveau Museum.
At 10:30 and 12:00, a themed tour "Mother's Day at the Museum" and a special game created for the holiday "Help Find My Mom!" are scheduled. At 10:30, preschool children are invited, and at 12:00, younger school children.
During the event, visitors will be able to take a themed tour of the museum's exhibition, during which attention will be paid to the reflection of the image of the mother in art, as well as natural motifs depicted in the interiors and household items in the Art Nouveau style.
At 14:00 and 16:00, a chamber concert "Heart of a Mother" will take place here. It will feature accordionist Kaspars Gulbis, concertmaster Juris Zhvikovs, and students from the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music Loreta Matisone, Amanda Karnate, Agnese Baltmane, and Paula Pupola.
An entrance ticket to the museum is valid for participation.
