On May 4, the House of Blackheads invites residents to take advantage of a special offer in honor of the holiday and to explore one of the most luxurious buildings in Riga with a special discount on Latvia's Independence Day.
Continuing our traditions, on national holidays we offer the residents of Latvia the opportunity to visit the House of Blackheads for half price. It is important for us that the house is accessible to as many visitors as possible and that on the day of the celebration everyone can not only commemorate the event but also strengthen their connection to Latvia by personally getting acquainted with our cultural and historical heritage. We especially invite families with children to take advantage of this opportunity and spend time together exploring the surroundings and passing on an understanding of our values to future generations. The House of Blackheads is an integral part of Latvia's cultural heritage and one of the symbols of Riga, embodying the continuity of our history and national identity,” says Linda Lukina-Kalda, head of the House of Blackheads.
By presenting a valid Latvian citizen ID, you can visit the House of Blackheads with a 50% discount on May 4. On the holiday, the house will be open to visitors from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Discounted tickets (not applicable to additional services and drinks) can be purchased at the box office of the House of Blackheads before the visit.
The House of Blackheads was built in 1334 as part of the ensemble of the Riga Town Hall Square. It is located in the heart of Old Riga and is a hallmark of the city, as well as one of the most important venues for celebrations. For centuries, the House of Blackheads has served as the central representative house of the city for hosting high-ranking guests.
