The first trailer for the comedy 'Focker in the Law' — the new installment of the popular 'Meet the Parents' franchise, which brings familiar characters back to the screen and adds fresh ones — has appeared online. The film is set to premiere on November 25, 2026.
The plot is still under wraps, but the trailer makes one thing clear: at the center of the story is Greg and Pam Focker's son, who is about to get married. His chosen one, Olivia Jones, turns out to be a strong-willed woman with quite an unusual past — she is a former FBI hostage negotiator. And now she is confident that she can handle not only crisis situations but also the 'emotional hostages' represented by the Focker family.
Such a statement, to put it mildly, does not please Greg Focker, but unexpectedly earns the sympathy of the strict Jack Byrnes, who sees in Olivia a worthy candidate to enter his famous 'circle of trust.' Against this backdrop, family relationships once again turn into a series of awkward situations, suspicions, and comical conflicts.
The project is directed by John Hamburg, the screenwriter of the original films in the 'Meet the Parents' series, 'Meet the Fockers,' and 'Meet the Fockers 2.' Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Blythe Danner, Teri Polo, and Owen Wilson return to their roles. New characters are played by Ariana Grande, who portrays Olivia Jones, as well as Skyler Gisondo, Beanie Feldstein, and Eduardo Franco.
The 'Meet the Parents' franchise started back in 2000 and has since become one of Hollywood's most recognizable comedy series. The new film promises to retain the signature humor about awkward family relationships while adding a modern perspective and a more dynamic story.
