On April 5, one of the most atmospheric seasonal events will take place in Riga — a grand celebration of Easter at the Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum. Guests are invited to spend the day outdoors, immerse themselves in folk traditions, and feel the true spring atmosphere.
Traditions That Come to Life
The celebration will be centered around Latvian Easter customs, many of which have been preserved since ancient times.
Visitors will be able to not only observe but also participate:
— dyeing eggs using traditional methods,
— rolling them down wooden troughs,
— swinging on large outdoor swings — a symbol of the sun and renewal.
Folk Music and Crafts
The atmosphere will be enhanced by folk groups: throughout the day, traditional songs and instrumental music will be played in the museum grounds. Additionally, there will be an Easter fair: artisans will showcase handcrafted items and demonstrate how traditional decorations, household items, and souvenirs are made. This is a rare opportunity to see artisans at work and to get acquainted with authentic culture.
Family Entertainment
The organizers have prepared a program suitable for both adults and children.
The festival will feature:
— outdoor games,
— creative workshops,
— interactive zones,
— themed performances.
As a result, the event transforms from just a walk into a full-fledged family leisure activity.
The festival will take place from 10:00 to 16:00
