On August 22, one of the most significant musical events of the summer - the concert “GALA GALANTE. Viva La Musica!”, dedicated to the laureates of the prestigious international award Baltijas Balva/Baltic Awards, will take place at the Dzintari concert hall in Jūrmala.
At the invitation of opera diva Inese Galante, Latvian and international stars will participate in the festive evening. On this ceremonial evening, world-renowned vocalists, vibrant instrumentalists, and brilliant representatives of the contemporary scene will gather on one stage to present the audience with a grand musical event.
This year, the concert will feature a special Italian intonation - the special guest will be Italian opera singer Giorgio Berrugi, one of the leading tenors of our time, named by Plácido Domingo as his artistic heir.
The solemn concert will also feature: charismatic tenor Dmytro Popov (Ukraine), expressive singer with a wide vocal range Elina Nechayeva (Estonia), brilliant pianist Andrejs Osokins (Latvia), dynamic and expressive NICO Ensemble (Lithuania), one of the brightest sopranos of the young generation Annija Kristiāna Ādamsone (Latvia), bass with a deep timbre Edgars Ošleja (Latvia), young virtuoso, 12-year-old pianist, a true 'wunderkind' Gustavs Kalējs (Latvia), and other artists. The orchestra will be conducted by the famous conductor Ekhart Wycik (Germany). The opera diva, chair of the selection committee of Baltijas Balva / Baltic Awards Inese Galante (Latvia), will unite these brilliant artists on one stage.
The performers will present famous arias and beloved global musical hits of various genres - from opera to jazz - in original arrangements, in unexpected duets and ensembles.
The event will feature the producer of the Oscar and Golden Globe-winning animated film Flow (Straume), laureate and honorary member of the selection committee of Baltijas Balva / Baltic Awards - Matiss Kaža.
As tradition dictates, the evening will open with a ceremonial meeting of guests on the red carpet, which will gather celebrities and influential representatives from creative, business, and socio-political circles.
The festive concert, dedicated to the outstanding achievements of the Baltic countries in the fields of science, architecture, art, and music, will bring together honored guests from around the world - laureates of the Baltijas Balva/Baltic Awards 2026, members of the selection committee, as well as representatives of partner organizations from Lithuania, Estonia, and other European countries.
Talented participants, brilliant performers, and an elegant audience will create a special unforgettable atmosphere, turning Jūrmala into a European cultural center - the Latvian Riviera.
The evening promises to be filled with musical surprises, unexpected artistic solutions, and bright positive emotions that will warm and inspire for a long time.
