A Photo Exhibition Dedicated to Ukrainian Children Who Died in the War Will Open at the National Library

In commemoration of the fourth anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine and in solidarity with the Ukrainian people, a photo exhibition titled "Angels of the Kharkiv Region" will open on February 24 at 10:30 AM in the atrium of the National Library of Latvia (NLL).

The idea for the exhibition belongs to Tatyana Matyash-Mirnaya, who lost her 11-year-old son Mark as a result of a Russian missile strike. The aim of the photo exhibition is to honor the memory of children from the city and region of Kharkiv, whose lives were taken by Russian aggression.

The exhibition will feature more than 30 photographs of deceased children and stories of their lives told by their parents.

The exhibition is intended not only to preserve the memory of each child but also to draw the attention of the international community to the devastating consequences of the war in Ukraine. The goal of the exhibition is to remind about the tragedies of war and the necessity of restoring peace in Ukraine, as the Ukrainian people are losing their greatest treasure — their children.

The exhibition will be open until March 24.
