Javier Bardem and Kate Hudson will star in the romantic comedy Hello & Paris, based on Deborah McKinlay's novel That Part Was True, which made the New York Times Best Sellers list.
The screenwriter and director is Elizabeth Chomko (“What They Had”), reports Deadline. The film is positioned as a romantic comedy in the spirit of classic films such as “Sleepless in Seattle,” “When Harry Met Sally,” and “You've Got Mail.”
The plot follows a landscape architect and a writer going through a crisis who begin a correspondence after meeting in Paris, discussing books and recipes, until they eventually discover that the only thing more difficult than being alone is choosing not to be alone.
The film is produced by two-time Oscar-nominated producer Finola Dwyer (“Brooklyn,” “The Sense of an Ending”) and the company Fifth Season. The project will be presented at the upcoming European Film Market in Berlin.
