The legendary musical sensation 'The Phantom of the Opera' will celebrate the 40th anniversary of its stage history next year. The grand production featuring world-class artists and musicians will kick off its anniversary European tour in Estonia with the opening show on May 5.
Performances at Unibet Arena in Tallinn will take place from May 5 to May 10, while at Twinsbet Arena in Vilnius they will run from May 19 to May 25. About 150 people will be involved both on stage and behind the scenes. The set for the production will arrive in the region in 15 large shipping containers. Unibet Arena in Tallinn and Twinsbet Arena in Vilnius will be transformed into an impressive Paris Opera House, for which all the scenery, lighting, and sound equipment will be transported from London. The performance will feature moving stages, pyrotechnics, and many other technical solutions. A total of 230 costumes will be brought for the shows, along with countless masks, wigs, and props.
This grand fusion of theater, music, and spectacle creates an impression of the highest level for the audience. A large number of foreign guests are also expected, as the tour will not take place in Finland and Latvia. After Estonia and Lithuania, the tour will continue in Poland.
'The Phantom of the Opera' is one of the most successful productions in the history of world theater: it has been seen by over 160 million viewers in 195 cities and has been translated into 21 languages. The premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical took place in London's West End in 1986, and since then the production has received 70 major theater awards.
The musical 'The Phantom of the Opera' is inspired by Gaston Leroux's novel 'The Phantom of the Opera' (1910), which tells the story of a mysterious masked figure hiding beneath the Paris Opera House. He becomes madly in love with a young soprano, Christine Daaé, dedicating himself entirely to developing her exceptional talent and using any means necessary to ensure her success.
