Argentine musician Alan Cortis, working in the genres of sound art, noise music, free improvisation, electroacoustic music, and noise rock, will perform on January 24 at 8:00 PM at the Aleponija bar in Riga.
Cortis is the founder of the experimental rock band "Reynols" and also participates in the French ensemble "L'Autopsie a révélé que la mort était Due à l'Autopsie." He will be joined in Riga by Latvian drummer Rinalds Maksimov.
It is planned that on January 24 and 25 at the Aleponija bar, Cortis will also conduct a masterclass on "deep listening," intended for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders. Participation is free.
The seminar consists of a set of various activities aimed at exploring the possibilities of auditory perception and expanding the perceptual potential of these possibilities. For example, the seminar will explain the difference between "hearing" and "listening," as well as different levels of auditory perception. It is primarily based on practical exercises designed to actively engage all participants.
