Doctors have banned Raimonds Pauls from the piano

Raimonds Pauls before the anniversary concert in Riga - doctors have forbidden the maestro to play the piano after heart surgery.

On the eve of a major anniversary concert, Raimonds Pauls received alarming news from doctors - this is reported by the magazine Privātā Dzīve, as conveyed by NRA.

As is known, on January 12, the Maestro will turn 90 years old, and a festive concert is planned in his honor. It was previously reported that Raimonds Pauls underwent heart surgery, and now the doctors do not recommend him to go on stage.

In an interview with the magazine "Privatā Dzīve," Maestro Pauls admitted that he is preparing for the events of next week, which will begin on Monday, January 12, the day of his 90th birthday. "We have to celebrate somehow, we have to try to get to the piano," the composer smiled, but added that he actually does not plan to perform at the concerts. "Now I have categorically stated that I will not play because I am forbidden to do so," said the maestro.

According to Pauls, the doctor explicitly forbade him to sit at the piano. "What will happen next - that will only be seen on the spot," he noted ambiguously, adding that after the anniversary he still hopes to play one more concert - the partner of the Maestro will be actor Andris Keišs.
