Until January 4, the annual student art exhibition-fair "JAUNmarka" will be held at the Latvian Academy of Arts for the 23rd time. This year's theme is "Art as a Source of Strength," celebrating the inspiring and powerful energy of art.
Every year, the "JAUNmarka" exhibition gathers over 300 participants from all faculties of the Latvian Academy of Arts. Their works - paintings, graphics, textiles, drawings, sculptures, and much more - are exhibited by both promising first-year students and experienced senior students with their own refined style and experience.
Due to its scale and diversity, "JAUNmarka" is considered the largest student art fair in the Baltic States. It provides young artists with the opportunity to present themselves to a wider audience, while art lovers can discover and purchase works that may belong to future classics, allowing intuition and creative experimentation to flourish.
The main theme of the exhibition, "Art as a Source of Strength," invites us to reflect on the diverse functions of art - its ability not only to provide aesthetic pleasure but also to reveal new emotions, speak about values and issues, and inspire and expand the possibilities of both the individual and society as a whole.
The exhibition is open every day except for December 24–26, December 31, and January 1.
