Why Did Not All Primates Evolve into Humans?

Primates do not become humans because they are successfully adapted to their environment, notes paleoanthropologist Briana Pobiner.

All modern primates, such as mountain gorillas and lemurs, thrive in their conditions. Evolution is not a linear progression; it depends on the ability of organisms to adapt.

Humans are not 'more developed' compared to other primates and have not won the evolutionary race. For example, ants, which are far more numerous than humans, are also successfully adapted to their environment. Evolutionary success lies in survival and reproduction, not in who is stronger or faster.

The ancestors of humans diverged from chimpanzees when they began spending more time on the ground, possibly in search of food. These behavioral changes led to the development of bipedalism. Chimpanzees continue to evolve, and their ancestors also split into subspecies. They are successfully fulfilling their role and will continue to exist as long as their habitat is not destroyed.
