Does a Cat's Character Depend on Its Color? Scientists Conducted a Study

Cat owners know that their pets have different personalities. But is this related to the color of their fur? Scientists decided to find out.

American psychologists conducted a study to understand what connection cat owners perceive between the color of their pets and their character.

It turned out that white cats are usually balanced, somewhat inactive, and behave distantly with people. However, they quite bravely defend their territory and interests.

Bicolor cats are friendly but a bit aloof. In contrast, tricolor cats are not known for their friendliness at all. Even greater intolerance is characteristic of tortoiseshell animals, although they can be trained.

Owners of black cats believe that their pets do not stand out in any special way among their peers of other colors.

The most energetic, sociable, and shameless are recognized as ginger cats.

However, as the scientists noted, their work was based solely on the subjective observations of cat owners. Nevertheless, specialists believe that a cat's behavior is primarily influenced by its genetics and upbringing, and only then by its breed.
