When Not to Water Cucumbers: How to Avoid Crop Loss

Cucumbers are one of the most popular garden crops grown by many gardeners.

The cucumber harvest depends not only on fertilizers but also on proper watering.

These plants are 90% water, so they require regular watering, especially in dry weather.

Watering at the wrong time can lead to the death of cucumbers.

This time may occur during prolonged rains or in cold weather. In these cases, it is better to refrain from watering to avoid the development of fungal diseases that can lead to crop loss.

Foliar watering is recommended to be done before 9 a.m. This will create a humid microclimate around the bed, which is ideal for cucumbers.

Important! The soil around the root collar should remain dry. Otherwise, there is a risk of root rot (for the same reason, cucumbers should not be hilled).

For watering, water with a temperature of 25-30 degrees should be used. Watering with cold water can lead to the loss of ovaries.
