How to Dye Eggs with Beetroot for Easter

How to dye eggs with beetroot for Easter? You will find all the details in our recipe. This method is very economical: eggs are dyed with freshly squeezed beetroot juice, minimizing your expenses. What color will the eggs get? A pleasant pink, the brightness of which depends on the duration of exposure to the juice. This is truly an impressive and festive option. Moreover, using natural dyes is preferable to artificial ones, as they can penetrate inside through the pores of the eggshell.

INGREDIENTS FOR 6 SERVINGS

white eggs 6 pcs.
beetroot 1 kg
salt 1 tsp.
table vinegar 4 tbsp.
refined vegetable oil for greasing eggs 2 tbsp.

RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Thoroughly wash the beetroot under warm running water using a brush, then grate it on a medium or fine grater into a large bowl.

STEP 2

Add salt to the grated beetroot and mix. Let it sit for 15 minutes to release more juice. Then, in portions, place the beetroot onto a doubled piece of cheesecloth and squeeze the juice into a pot. Add vinegar and mix.

STEP 3

Wash the eggs under warm running water. Place them in a pot. Cover with cold water. Put on medium heat and bring to a boil. Boil the eggs hard (10 minutes).

STEP 4

Pour the beetroot juice with vinegar into glasses. Dip the eggs one by one into the juice and leave them there for about 1 hour. The same container with juice can be used multiple times.

STEP 5

Place the beautifully pink dyed Easter eggs on a rack, placing paper towels underneath. Allow them to dry completely.

STEP 6

Grease the dyed eggs with refined vegetable oil. Arrange them on a separate plate or use them to decorate plates with Easter cakes and Easter bread. The dyed eggs are ready!

BY THE WAY

The better the beetroot, the brighter the color on the dyed eggs will be. Therefore, try to choose good salad beetroot, dark burgundy, without white streaks inside.

NOTE FOR THE HOSTESS

A beautiful pattern may form on the eggs if you wrap them in threads or grease certain areas of the shell with butter before dyeing, and then dip them in the beetroot broth.
