Pine is somewhat safer, although it can also provoke allergic reactions. Typically, these manifest as coughing, runny nose, itching, and rashes.
According to the specialist, in addition to essential oils and resin, mold, pollen, and insect droppings can trigger allergies, as well as fungi. Animal feces remnants are equally dangerous, as they may contain microbes and parasites.
However, if the fir tree is healthy and has been stored properly, it poses no danger. But for allergy sufferers, it is better to prefer an artificial tree, the biologist concluded.
