In Azerbaijan, at the Savalan winery, there is the largest oak wine barrel in the world. It has been entered into the Guinness World Records.
It took about 5 years to create this barrel. Its diameter is almost 5 m, its length is practically the same, and the wall thickness is 10 cm.
The barrel was originally assembled in Italy, then disassembled, transported to Azerbaijan, and assembled again. At the official ceremony, wine was poured into the barrel for six hours. Its final capacity exceeded 66,500 liters.
