How to Cook Pasta Without a Pot — 2 Most Interesting Methods

Many children love pasta, and for adults, it is the simplest and most familiar side dish.

However, you shouldn't just boil pasta in salted boiling water, said chef and blogger Holly-Evelyn, who is known on TikTok as @cookingwithhollieevelyn.

The cook does it this way: she throws dry pasta into a frying pan, adds vegetables — cherry tomatoes, bell pepper, zucchini, sun-dried tomatoes, onion, and garlic — and pours broth over everything. In 10 minutes, just like when boiling in a pot, the dish will be ready.

"I cook pasta in chicken broth with vegetables. It absorbs all the nutrients and flavor, making the pasta ten times tastier (and without extra dishes!)," Holly admitted.

At the end, 1 tsp of cornstarch and a bit of pasta sauce are added to achieve a thick, creamy consistency.

Not Just in a Frying Pan

Pasta can also be made in the microwave. This option is handy in the office when there’s no time for a full lunch, or at home when you need to make a quick snack for one without the hassle of dishes.

For one serving, you will need 100 g of pasta, 220 ml of boiling water, 1 tsp of vegetable oil, and a pinch of salt.

The pasta is poured with boiling water in a deep glass or ceramic bowl suitable for microwaving, oil and salt are added. Then the container is placed in the microwave for 2 minutes at maximum power. After stirring, the cycle is repeated once more. The pasta is brought to al dente in short one-minute intervals. The water should be absorbed or evaporated, and then the dish is ready to serve.
