Mango Reduces the Risk of Developing Diabetes

Mango may reduce the risk of diabetes despite its high sugar content, specialists have found.

An experiment published in the journal Foods showed that participants with prediabetes who consumed one fresh tropical fruit daily experienced a decrease in blood glucose levels, increased insulin sensitivity, and a reduction in fat tissue.

The study involved two groups: the first group consumed mango daily (about 32 g of sugar), while the second group ate a bar containing approximately 11 g of sugar. After six months, it was found that those who consumed the fruit had lower glucose spikes and improved overall metabolic health.

According to experts, the composition of mango plays an important role. It contains vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber, which offset the sweetness and provide additional health benefits. Unlike snacks with added sugar, fresh fruits improve metabolic indicators and help reduce the risk of diabetes.
