On Friday, 148 traffic accidents were registered in Latvia, with only one person injured in the accidents, the State Police reported to the LETA agency.
The only traffic accident with a casualty yesterday occurred in Riga. The day before, there was also only one casualty registered in a traffic accident.
Six drivers were detained yesterday for driving under the influence, and five criminal cases were initiated.
Yesterday, drivers were issued 235 fines for speeding, and 13 drivers were fined for aggressive driving. In total, on Friday, the police compiled 565 reports of traffic rule violations.
