On Wednesday, an unknown drone was washed ashore at the Karosta beach in Liepaja, reported the LR police.
The State Police received information that on the beach of Karosta in Liepaja, an object resembling a drone was found washed ashore.
The police have already cordoned off the scene and passed the information to the sappers of the National Armed Forces (NAF).
The NAF, in turn, reports that specialists in the disposal of explosive objects have been dispatched to the site.
At the same time, the services claim that there is currently no threat to the public.
It was previously reported that this autumn, debris from drones has been found washed ashore at several beaches in Latvia. Preliminary findings suggest these are parts of a Russian drone called "Geran".
It was also reported that in early September, about 20 drones entered Polish airspace. Poland stated that these unmanned aerial vehicles are Russian. To destroy them, F-16 and F-35 fighter jets were scrambled.
