Leon Rusins, accused of murdering a woman in front of her child and mother, is still wanted and has been placed on an international wanted list as a dangerous criminal, the State Police informed LETA.
As previously reported, there is a version that the criminal is dead, but at the same time, it is assumed that he is alive. Work on the case continues, but the police cannot provide further comments at this time.
As reported, on April 16, 2023, a woman born in 1983 was killed in the Jekabpils region in front of her child and mother. The murder was committed by her ex-husband Rusins, who had threatened and stalked the woman for several months. The woman regularly filed reports with the police but did not receive protection. Rusins had 19 criminal cases against him, including 18 for failing to comply with a protection order against violence.
The police were unable to apprehend Rusins after the murder, but it cannot be ruled out that he committed suicide.
