Numerous inquiries from bb.lv readers indicate that bank clients have lost access to their accounts.

The portal bb.lv conducted an experiment and confirmed that it was impossible to log into the online bank at 12:32.

As a result, clients of the largest bank in Latvia were unable to pay for everyday expenses, settle loan debts, withdraw money for medications, and so on.

Swedbank admitted to having issues with money:

"There are currently technical malfunctions in the Swedbank ATM network. It is temporarily impossible to withdraw cash from most Swedbank ATMs, as well as to use other functions — deposit cash or check the account balance. Technical support specialists are currently working to resolve the issue," the bankers reported.

Instead of money, Swedbank offers advice:

"In case of urgent need to withdraw cash, the bank urges clients to visit one of the Swedbank branches that handle cash transactions, or to use the SEB banka ATM network, where no fee is charged for cash withdrawals. When using ATMs of other banks, clients should consider possible fees for the transaction."

They ask depositors to understand and forgive:

"We apologize for the inconvenience. As soon as the ATM network is restored, information will be provided to the media and published on Swedbank's social networks."
