Investors hope to create a new attraction center for business and tourism.
Dracula-Land in Romania: the country is launching one of the most ambitious tourism projects in recent years. Private investors intend to invest more than one billion euros in the creation of a large complex that will combine a theme park, hotels, an arena, and business infrastructure.
Thus, the country is betting on international tourism and the events market. The project is expected to attract millions of visitors annually and strengthen the region's position in the European entertainment industry.
What is known about the Dracula-Land project
The complex will be located near Bucharest. The area will cover about 160 hectares. The heart of the project will be a theme park with an area of over 780,000 square meters.
In particular, the concept is built around the myth of Dracula and Romanian folklore. Each zone will have its own storyline and atmosphere.
Main elements of the park
- six themed worlds;
- more than 40 major attractions;
- a "Transylvania" zone with roller coasters and forest decorations;
- a "Dracula's Castle" with mazes and interactive routes;
- family spaces and mythological characters from different cultures.
Therefore, the project is aimed not only at horror enthusiasts. The organizers want to reach families with children and fans of large-scale shows.
Why Dracula
The image of Dracula dates back to the 1897 novel "Dracula" written by Bram Stoker. The writer created the figure of a mysterious vampire living in the Carpathians and traveling to London.
However, the literary character is partially connected to the historical figure Vlad III, known as Vlad the Impaler. He ruled Wallachia in the 15th century and became famous for his harsh methods of warfare. His nickname Draculea became part of the future myth.
Moreover, the theme of vampires has long been established in popular culture. Series and films like "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Twilight" have made this image a global brand.
Arena, hotels, and spa complex
The project goes far beyond a typical amusement park. Investors plan to build a multifunctional arena with 22,500 seats.
It will host concerts, international shows, and esports tournaments. Thus, the complex will operate year-round.
Three themed hotels with approximately 1,200 rooms will be built for guests. For example, some of the hotels will be designed in the style of medieval castles.
Infrastructure for recreation

As a result, the project could become a full-fledged resort center.
Race track, outlet, and technology campus
The organizers have also included a business component in the concept. A 4.5-kilometer racetrack will be built on the premises.

If the complex is realized as planned, Romania will have one of the largest theme parks in Europe.
