The company "Laundromat" will open a new branch in the "Olanija" shopping center, expanding its presence in the regions of Latvia.
The professional equipment installed in self-service laundries is significantly different from regular household washing machines. It allows washing up to 17 kilograms of laundry in one cycle. Additionally, powerful dryers provide a complete cycle — washing and drying — in about one hour, allowing customers to save time and simultaneously attend to other daily tasks.
"The service is intended for both everyday clothing and large textile items — blankets, mattress covers, pillows, or curtains, which are often difficult or even impossible to wash in home washing machines," said Marketing Department Head Monta Purkalne.
"The location of the new self-service laundry in the Olanija shopping center provides particularly convenient access. Visitors will be able to leave their laundry to wash while shopping or taking care of other daily tasks, thus optimizing their time. This format has long been widespread in many European countries," emphasized M. Purkalne.
Demand for self-service laundries has been growing in recent years. This is especially relevant for city residents who live in compact apartments or who regularly need to wash large textile items.
Self-service laundries often help reduce expenses. Compared to dry cleaning services, washing large textiles in such laundries can be significantly cheaper. Calculations show that a family of four washing blankets, jackets, curtains, and pillows in a self-service laundry can save an average of over 250 euros per year compared to using dry cleaning services.
The company "Laundromat" was founded in 2022, and in a short time, it has managed to create a wide network of self-service laundries both in Riga and in other cities of Latvia. The company notes that demand for such services is growing not only in the capital but also in the regions.
This year, it is planned to significantly expand the network so that by the end of the year, self-service laundries will be available in about 20 cities in Latvia. The company is also expanding its operations beyond Latvia, starting operations in Lithuania and Estonia.
